Analysis of consumption of graphite electrode in steelmaking process

In the process of steelmaking, the graphite electrode will produce some consumption
In the process of steelmaking, the graphite electrode will produce some consumption, which can be divided into normal consumption and extraordinary consumption. In the normal consumption, there are three kinds of arc consumption, chemical consumption and oxidation consumption.Although they cause consumption on the graphite electrode, there are differences in the way.
1,arc consumption was become evaporation consumption, because between the electrodes and the burden will produce up to 3000℃high temperature, there will be continued to the consumption of graphite electrode, about accounted for about 40%of the normal consumption.
2.Chemical consumption refers to the reaction between the electrode and some impurities of steel, iron, calcium, and fierce oxide,or the reaction with iron in molten steel. This consumption is also directly related to the mass of steel and the diameter of graphite electrode.
3.Oxidation consumption refers to the consumption generated by the reaction with oxygen in the process of steelmaking, which is related to the atmosphere, gas temperature and gas flow rate in the furnace.50-60%of normal consumption is found, which is the largest consumption.
4.The very consumption is the break of machine wear level.
